Written by Dario in Bread Machine Advice One of the most common problems is losing the user’s manual (you know, the little book very few people read). Ask yourself, what is the main reason I need the manual for. We are here to help you find the exact manual for your bread machine. But don’t think we’ll be coming to your home to help with the search. Other than this, we’ll also help answer the most common questions from the user’s manual which are related to bread machines, so you won’t have to spend hours searching the manual, even once you find it. Why? Because bread makers are something that requires precision. You’re making your personalized and desired bread using the maker after all, right. Winging it isn’t something you’d want to be doing, especially if it’s the first time using a new bread machine. Therefore, refer to some of the basics we will list. http://bacvietexpress.com/upload/userfiles/files/canon-sx40-user-manual.pdf

Basics You Should Know About Bread Machines (Before Using Them) Bucket Capacity The most important thing to know before using the bread machine is the bucket capacity. You don’t want to wing it and end up overfilling the bucket, making a big mess in your kitchen. This happens a lot because many people don’t calculate in the time dough needs to rise. Tip: Take the bucket out of the bread machine, fill it with water, and keep track how much water it can take before it spills out. This will tell you the exact capacity of your bread machine’s bucket. Settings Panel It might be hard to face the settings panel (especially since it’s different on every bread machine), but it’s actually pretty simple once you know the whole bread-making process. Each button has its own purpose, and you will always find buttons for speed, temperature, dough type, and more. However note, that crust setting isn’t available on all bread machines. Ingredients Most manufacturers will be explaining the way and the order ingredients should be placed inside the bucket before starting the baking process. However, this order is used by 90 of the manufacturers and bakers (around the world), and it’s not a mystery. Tip: First ingredients should always be liquid, and then you add the flour before mixing it properly. Timer A timer is exactly what it stands for, but how do you use it correctly. Even though it’s simple, it’s the one feature which can easily confuse people. When you’re preparing a bread, you would generally need a recipe. And any recipe will state the preparation time, ingredients, and so on. Therefore, you should always refer to the recipe, even when you don’t have a bread machine’s user’s manual. Find the Bread Machine Manual Online Remember the old times when you would receive a CD with any technical device or gadget. In fact, most manufacturers post all necessary information and data for users to download. {-Variable.fc_1_url-

Therefore, this part of the article is to help solve the most common bread machine problems with or without the user manual. Bread is Too Hard The most common mistake is not using chlorine-free water when preparing the bread ingredients. Chlorine and yeast react badly together and can itself be a reason the bread comes out hard. Loaf is Coarse The main reason for a loaf coarse is the low moisture content. Make sure you add the right amount of water in the maker when preparing the ingredients. When to Stop the Bread Maker if You Want to Use Your Oven. You can use a bread maker to only make the dough and then rely on the oven to bake the bread. If you don’t have a dough only feature, stopping a bread machine after about 20 minutes at a temperature of 425 degrees Fahrenheit We hope that you’ve found this article informative and helpful. Learn why people trust wikiHow To create this article, 13 people, some anonymous, worked to edit and improve it over time.See Step 1 below to get started.Take some time to inspect it. There is a hinged lid, which can be lifted and shut; there may be a window in it, and probably a small vent too. Next to the lid, you should see a control panel with a few buttons (and maybe a light or two if you have a fancy version). Inside the bread machine, there is a bread pan or bucket. There should be a handle on it, which is probably folded down so the lid will close. The bread bucket works as both the mixing bowl and the baking pan. In the center of the bread bucket will be a little bread paddle or kneading blade. It is responsible for kneading and mixing the dough. When the dough bakes, it bakes around the kneading blade. You must remove the blade from the bottom of the loaf after the bread is baked. The machine itself, the bread bucket, and the kneading blade. If any one of these parts is missing, you must replace it. The kneading blade is the smallest part and the one most likely to be missing. It is also the least expensive to replace. If you need replacement parts then do an Internet search to find the manufacturer of your machine. Go to their website and email them about what you need. To take the bread bucket out, your machine may require you to pull hard, depending on how it snaps in. Look it over, grab the handle, and pull. Don’t worry; you are not breaking it. After you get the bread pan out, examine it. If you turn it upside down, the kneading blade will fall out. There will be a peg inside the bread pan the kneading blade fits over. To put the bread bucket back into the machine and snap it into place, you may have to shove down hard. Yours may go in easily or you may have to turn the gear under the bread bucket just slightly to get it to fit into the machine the right way. Take the bread bucket out set it next to the sink. Get a measuring cup and fill it with water. BACSIHA.COM/public/ckfinder/userfiles/files/canon-sx40-user-manual-pdf

Pour the water into the bread bucket. Do it repeatedly, until the bucket is full. Count how many cups of water you are adding to the bucket, until you get a total. This part is important, so measure carefully. When you choose a recipe, it is important that you match it up to the size of the bread bucket you have. You would not want to make a 2 lb recipe in a 1 lb machine.Have a good look at the buttons and display screen on the control panel. Unplug your machine. To set the machine to a particular cycle you have to keep pressing the Select button until it gets to the cycle you want. Sometimes a number identifies each cycle. For instance, White or Basic is usually 1. Whole Wheat is 2. French is 3; and so on; you get the idea. Each cycle takes a different amount of time to mix and cook the bread. The default setting is medium. When you unplug the machine and then plug it back in, it will automatically set itself to the medium setting. If you prefer a light or dark crust instead, then you press the Crust button to change the setting. Usually the Crust button will not work until after you select the dough cycle and before you press Start. There are a few basic ingredients you need to make bread in a bread machine.Sometimes you can buy yeast in a jar that says it is specifically for bread machines. You may use one packet of yeast to replace 2 teaspoons of yeast in most bread machine recipes. Don’t use rapid rise yeast.Bread flour is made from hard wheat so it has more gluten, or wheat protein, in it than regular all-purpose flour. All-purpose flour is a blend of hard and soft wheat. This makes it serviceable for biscuits, cakes and quick breads, which prefer soft wheat flour; and serviceable for yeast bread, which prefers hard wheat flour. It is called all-purpose flour because it is designed to be used for all baking purposes. Bread flour is made for yeast bread. If you do not have bread flour then you may use all-purpose flour for most bread recipes. Your results will not be the same as if you had used bread flour, but you will still have good results, and you will still get good bread. Sometimes you will need to add a tiny bit more flour to your dough if you use all-purpose flour. This is not always true but it is sometimes. It regulates the rising process so the bread dough does not spill over the bread bucket into the machine. Salt also adds flavor to the bread. Bread made without salt does not taste as good as bread made with some salt. They also contribute to the browning of the bread and the crispness of the crust. The main role they play, though, is as easy-to-use-food for the yeast. Yeast can use the starch in flour for its food but it is much happier if it gets an easy to use food like sugar or honey. Most bread machine recipes call for at least a small amount of sugar. However, bread machine breads do best if they do not have too much sugar added to them. When making sweet dough from scratch it is not unusual to add a full cup of sugar to the dough. This is because the dough rises faster and higher in a bread machine than it does when prepared by hand. Too much sugar is too much food for the yeast and it gets over-excited. This can result in a machine made mess that is unpleasant to clean up. You should never use hot liquids in a bread machine. Liquids that are too hot will kill the yeast. Room temperature liquids make the yeast happy. If you are using tap water then warm tap water is fine. If you are using yogurt or buttermilk you may want to take it out of the fridge to warm up a bit before you use it in the bread machine. (This is not strictly necessary, especially for breads baked on the Basic Cycle or longer. If you are using the Rapid Cycle though it is important the liquids be warm or at least at room temperature.) Usually between 1 and 4-tablespoons of fat are used in a 2 lb loaf of bread machine dough. You can use most fats interchangeably in a bread machine. Margarine, oil, shortening, lard, chicken fat, bacon grease or butter will all give you the same results. Some of the fats will add a different flavor, and the texture of the bread will change slightly, depending on which type of fat you use. Solid fats do not have to be melted before adding them to the bread machine. It helps if they are at room temperature, but this is not always practical. If you are going to mix and bake the dough right away then it does not matter which order you add the ingredients. If you want to program the machine with the Delay Cycle to start while you are away, then the order becomes important. The ingredients must be added in a way that will keep them inert until the machine begins its mixing. Most recipes suggest that you make a shallow indentation or well in the center of the flour and sprinkle the yeast into it. This is important because it prevents the yeast from touching the liquid until the machine begins mixing. If the yeast and liquid get together before the machine is scheduled to begin, then the yeast will become active and likely make a big mess out of the machine. Walk away now, and let it do its magic.Am I adding too much or not enough of an ingredient? Bake in a glass pan at 425?F for about 24 minutes. You can use any standard bread recipes; just ignore instructions in regular recipes, except for the list of ingredients, temperature and time for baking. Be sure to put the ingredients in your machine with liquids first, flour second, then salt, then sweetener, then yeast. Remove the dough when the dough cycle is done, form it into a loaf or rolls, let rise till doubled. Bake in the oven according to recipe's instructions. How do I correct this? If the desired color is golden brown, remove it from the oven as soon as it gets to this color. It will probably be before the baking cycle is complete. It sounds like you might be using too much water.See the instructions for the recipe you are following for that particular bread. You can sometimes measure solids by weight if you have a food scale, and an ingredient like butter can often be measured right on the stick by the markings on the wrapper. At very low temperatures, honey will not freeze solid. Instead, as the temperatures become lower, the viscosity of honey increases. Like most viscous liquids, the honey will become thick and sluggish with decreasing temperature.Do you make it the time you want it to be done or how long you want it to cook? Some have settings for both scenarios. Read through the user manual for your particular make and model or call the manufacturer's customer service number. You will not taste the vinegar in the finished bread but the acid in it will keep the bread fresh for a little while longer after it is baked. This old-fashioned trick still works well today. With milk or buttermilk, you can use warm tap water and add powdered milk or dry buttermilk with your dry ingredients. If you have any whey leftover from making cheese it makes a finely crumbed bread. It tastes good too, better than you would think. In addition, runny yogurt that did not set up right is great in breads. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes. Add the oil, flour and salt to the yeast. Select Basic or White Bread setting, and press Start. Too little salt can cause the dough to rise rapidly and then fall. It is the best loaf of white bread I've gotten from my machine so far -- and it rose really high (it had me slightly concerned it might over rise). But it was a beautiful loaf in the end.Too little salt can cause the dough to rise rapidly and then fall. But it was a beautiful loaf in the end.It says to place the yeast in the water for 10 minutes before adding the flour. They all recommend adding water first, then the flour mixture, and yeast on top of that.I tried this recipe the way it was written, and for the first time ever, I had a light fluffy loaf that rose to the top of my machine! This recipe has become a favorite! The bread is just great. This is a wonderful white bread recipe that I will be making again and again.Instant yeast is very small and more like little threads of yeast, much smaller than Active. You would need about 25 more Active yeast than Instant. Bread with too little salt will not only taste bland, it will also be too soft. It went against the manufacturer's instructions on how to add ingredients (which firmly said to add yeast last, on top of flour). It was delicious! It turned out light and fluffy, despite all of my blundering. It wasn't dense at all, like with my mom's bread machine recipe. It tasted just like my grandmother's hand-made recipe- except without all the work. Thanks for the great recipe. Some modifications that I make: I substitue the sugar with 2 very generous tablespoons of honey, add just a pinch extra salt and add 1 tablespoon of softened butter to the bread machine with the other ingredients. I only make the dough in the bread machine, then I take it out and put it in my silicone bread pan, split the top length wise with a knife and stuff the bread with pieces of butter (1 tablespoon total) then I brush the top of the bread with melted butter and bake in a 375 degree preheated oven for about 30 minutes. I make a few alterations though, as my family likes whole wheat. Here's my exact recipe. This makes a 2-lb loaf.I like to bake mine inthe oven however. I find that the dough cycle is actually too long on my machine if you use bread machine yeast (1.5 hours), because the end of it is a rise cycle, which I want done in my bread pan. The reason for this is that bread machine yeast actually cuts out the need for a second rise. So, after the final pulse cycle (you'll have to pay attention to your machine to see when this is -- mine is at 50 minutes into the dough cycle), take it out, shape it into your loaf and place it your pan to rise for 30 minutes. Bread should be brown on top, not just golden.I also like to smear the crust with butter to keep it soft, but if you like really crusty crust, then don't do that. It's perfect for sandwiches, french toast, or anything else you'd use store-bought bread for.It hits the window every time. Thank you Karen. I am using my bread machine every day now. I made a few changes to the recipe. I didn't have any bread machine flour or prepackaged yeast, so I use regular white flour and 2 teaspoons of quick rise yeast and it works great! If you are following a medically restrictive diet, please consult your doctor or registered dietitian before preparing this recipe for personal consumption. Too little salt can cause the dough to rise rapidly and then fall.
