In fact, one piece of advice that I give to people who just got their first bread machine is to read the documentation that came with their machine. It will provide some recipes developed especially for your bread maker. The booklet will tell you about the different cycles. Sometimes the booklet has been lost. Other times people pick up a bread maker second-hand and they never had the manual. You’ll note that some companies provide manuals for every machine they ever made. Other bread maker manufacturers only provide information for products they’re currently selling. That will give you some idea about how easy the machine is to work with. Then you’ll see the PDF version of the manual. Click on that and the manual will be in the downloads section on the right of the page. Stay with me on this one, the link is one that you’d use to buy the machine. Go down the page until you get to the Product Information section. That’s where you’ll find a link to the user manual. I’ve had different models over the years, but I’ve always used Zojirushi. Sunbeam 5891 and the Kenmore 102180. Select the model you want and scroll WAY down. It’s even under the product reviews. Look for “owner’s manual”. They only have 4 models showing, and if I try to put in the modelnumber which is SD254, they show me a microwave. Think they are a little confused. Unfortunately, my Wel-Bilt ABM6000 died after 25 years of honorable service which makes it truly well built IMHO. It looks like some sort of heat guage but it protrudes so far out I cannot remove the dough bucket once the bread is done.Can anyone please help. I want to learn to use it!! Model J5741 When I use the setting for white bread, the dough doesn’t rise enough. I assume that the solution would be to create a custom program with longer rising periods. However, the mfr’s manual instructions for doing so have no apparent relationship to what I see when I look at the control panel. The problem is not just the writer’s lack of proficiency in English — though that is evident in this section as it is throughout the manual. You can use a store bought bread mix and follow the directions on the box. The machine can make 1.5 lb loaf or up to 2 lb. Bake time is 4 hours and 10 min for Country White Bread in Basic Mod setting. If you want to have bread ready in time for dinner, start the machine at 12:30 pm and bread should be done close to 5 pm. The timer will buzz on the machine when it is done and you remove the loaf pan, let it cool for a min and remove the loaf on a cutting borard. You can make your own mix, with the recipe in the manual. I only have used the store box kits and they work just fine in my model Cm725. Hope this is helpful to people that have a Chefmate machine. The tall loaf makes cutting even slices hard with lots of messy crumbs being the downside of bread baking. It’s a real waste of money and food. The whole wheat cycle did not work.
