It is very easy to switch between inputs on the TV through the media bar. It opens with a home button on the remote. The remote is well organized and is very light. It is kind of small, so it may be hard to read for some, but i really liked the size. The contrast on HD channels is great, but NTSC channels look horrible. They are blurred and grainy. The only way they looked better is if I moved further away from the TV. I played with the settings and they looked the same. 480i channels don't look that great, but looks a lot better than NTSC. 720p is where this tv shines. The picture quality is truly real life. The black is deep and the color is beautiful. I am not sure if it the cable company that did this, might be the tv, but as you change the channel a display comes up that says the channel, what it is broadcast in(like 720p), and sometimes the title of the show pops up. This is my grandmother's TV and I am not familiar with what her cable company displays. There are lots of settings to play with and plenty of inputs. Satellite may look better on this TV because of higher contrast ratios. Cable is better suited to a SDTV and I would not recommend it for this TV. Then again, it was basic cable so it may look better with digital cable. I would definitely recommend this TV. This is the clearest TV I have ever seen. It is extremely vivid. I bought it to watch the game. (Super bowl 42) I cant wait to see the game in HD. The one thing I dont agree with on the sony though is the fact that I cant change my resolution (480p,720p,1080i,p). Maybe its because I dont have a true HD source.yet! But I am definitely upgrading to bring out this beasts full potential. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. The setup was easy, but I had to call the time warner to setup the box for HD. The pictures in HD are great, but when watching regular channesl looks blurry and the clarity is not good not as sharp. I just set up last night so I am trying to get info on how to fine tune the picture, I am sure the other channels should not look blurry like that. Also the sound would not come on so time warner had to boot the cable box everyone is done via time warner box for hd. I hope I can rectify how the picture looks when not watching HD channels otherwise it is good buy my old regular t.v. has a better picture than non HD on this Sony. ToughToPlease I bought this TV 46 days ago after the two previous LG models died and it has outlasted them both. The setup was easy. I've got a cable converter with an HDMI cable, a DVD player with AV cables and a coaxial cable connection. Switching between them with the cable remote is simple. The TV remote is basic and easy to use although I don't really use it. The picture is great on the HD channels and the analog channels are good at about 6 feet away or more. The buttons are located on the top of the set which works well for my entertainment center but could be unreachable if you mounted it on the wall. Overall I love this TV. Spend a little bit extra for the Sony, it's well worth it. The repair guy who serviced the previous models said that he never has Sony problems. FiddyCal I needed to replace a Sony TV in my bedroom and initially bought a Samsung which had 3 HDMI jacks. That TV started making a high-pitched noise after it was on for a few hours, so I went back to the tried and true Sony. The image qualties are about the same, but now at least all the dogs in the neighborhood aren't howling. Yeah, that's a plus.Gah, give us another jack. Oh well, its quiet.
