Traditional AF-D and AF lenses do not autofocus on the FTZ. Nikon still sells many of these lenses new today, and they work much better on any FX DSLR like a D750. Poo! It also works with other brands of lenses in Canon EF mount, adapting them to Nikon Z. These lenses have to get closer to the sensor, and are the original mirrorless lenses. This is good, because we can get basic adapters cheap direct from China over eBay for just about any kind of lens. In AF-C, red is GOOD. Therefore if you have more than one person on the frame you may need to click the rear controller left or right several times until you manually direct it to the correct face. If you don't, you'll get a lot of out-of-focus pictures where it's focused on some random face in the background. Other cameras do this much better and just pick the correct face. I leave it ON; the default is OFF. You'll see a gray square on the screen with four directional arrows. The box will now stay on top of your subject and keep it in focus as it moves in and out, up and down and left and right. You can take pictures, or take your finger off the shutter and start again; the system keeps tracking your subject. Most people would use the top rear AF-ON button, but hey, it's your camera: The key is I set my camera very carefully in advance to have it make all my settings exactly as I would do manually (see my Settings File above). I do this because I've taken the time to program my camera to set all these as I would do manually so I can concentrate on my picture and not my camera while I'm shooting. Amateurs too often use too high an ISO, too high a shutter speed and too small a lens aperture, all three of which lead to softer pictures: As in all modern cameras, each higher ISO gets softer due to noise reduction. Square shots are also great for submission to photo editors as this lets them pick whatever crop fits their layout, increasing your chances of a sale. It works flawlessly with the Z6, even turning on and off with the Z6's power switch. The SB300 is bigger, junkier, lower powered and takes too long to recycle from it's pathetic AAA cells, and the SB500 is too darn big and costs more than twice as much for about the same performance as the tiny SB400. The SB-400 has more than enough power and fits the camera's size better. I placed the woofer behind my sofa about 30 feet from the sound bar. After three months the woofer made this loud buzzing noise and wouldn't stop. I tried changing the channels between the four options available, nothing worked. Guess what happened about four months after that. Took it back to the store, got another one, a few months later it did it again. Now after the second one was switched out I had a tech guy come and check my WiFi, signal strength and interference. My signal strength was 87 (not bad since the WiFi was located in the basement and the TV was upstairs above it). The unit looks good and has good power. The sound is great, but don't expect true surround. The center speake channel is good enabling you to hear dialog in movies. It was simple to set up. I connected a HDMI cable (included) directly to the tv and it worked. Satelite receiver, dvd, and Roku were already hooked to tv via HDMI. The only thing that took a little time was programming the remote. It does not come with a remote and you program it to work with your tv remote which it does. I am very glad I purchased the unit and would recommend. Update: I have had the soundbar now for over a year and it still works great. The only thing that I would improve is the remote. I have my mini stereo hooked up and I can play my ipod in my iphone BUT only cable connected to side input. This is my only problem with the soundbar. We got burned buying the Boston Avidea 610 system that way and I dont trust buying what I hear at a show room so much. I could not justify the extra 200 dollars this unit cost over my Yamaha unit. The Yamaha unit seems much more sturdy. There is no emphasis on wireless devices but rather incorporates FM radio and other inputs. This is the other thing I like, there are too many things to go wrong with wirelss especially the subwoofer which I see true to form there have been negative reviews regarding. The Yamaha unit is hardwired but that is the only thing hardwired on this unit and placement is not problem with a subwoofer so should be a moot point. The point of my review.
